I write to express my concern about the recent decision to eliminate the public corruption section in the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Central District of California.
According to press reports, the 17 Assistant United States Attorneys assigned to the public corruption/environmental crimes unit in the Los Angeles office are being reassigned to other sections within the office. Public corruption cases will now apparently be mixed in with other types of cases and handled by a larger pool of prosecutors, rather than by a specialized section. Press articles have also mentioned the low morale and ill will that this decision has generated among prosecutors in the Los Angeles office, as well as the need to train new prosecutors to bring them up to speed on the complexities involved in corruption investigations.
-------
The decision raises serious questions about the future of public corruption cases, and whether they will be as vigorously pursued in the Central District of California especially given all the turn over and disruption that has occurred. And now, by eliminating the corruption unit, I am concerned that the Los Angeles office is sending a message that these cases will not receive sufficient attention, resources, and leadership.
Please provide me with the Department of Justices rationale behind eliminating the public corruption unit in Los Angeles, including the specific facts, statistics, and circumstances that drove this decision. What initiated this decision? Who was consulted before making this decision? What was the role of Main Justice and the White House, if any? Did any of the DOJs prosecutors in the Criminal Divisions Public Integrity Section have any input into the decision-making process? How will this decision affect the public corruption cases that have been and are currently being investigated in Los Angeles?

The Dept of Justice US Trustee's office testified that these heinous acts occurred after they were forewarned not to do so, making them extensively egregious.
Despite the fact that the Law mandates that the Chief Justice in Delaware Federal Courts disgorge and disqualify the MNAT and TBF law firm, the Delaware Dept of Justice has bent over backwards to give implied, blanket, immunity to the felony acts, even after MNAT and TBF confessed.
The confessions had to occur as the Court approved liquidation consultant, Laser Haas and his company CLI, had provided the courts with irrefutable court docket records.
The parties had lied, believed they had gotten away with the perjury and schemes while continuing to do additional acts of fraud, that was all in the court docket records.
The proofs of fraud and perjury was documented so extensively that the Director of the Dept of Justice EOUST Washington DC office resigned, after Haas documented another separate, but connected case, that had another $100 million in fraud.
Then it is discovered the US Attorney's office, Colm F Connolly has not refered the matter to an independent prosecutor, nor did Colm F Connolly tell Haas or anyone else that Colm was a partner with the MNAT law firm in 2001.
The disbanding of the Public Corruption unit speciously occurred 13 weeks after Haas filed the official complaints.
As the Dept of Justice has not moved to removed the rogue DOJ personnel who are actins as Appellee's with MNAT and TBF, while the nomination of Colm Connolly for Federal Justice is being "rushed", one is only left with the conclusive evidence that the Public Corruption Unit was yanked out of existence, so that the nomination of Colm Connolly could continue without impediment.

Yes, she does know corruption.
Her concern is very well based. She is concerned that she may have to bribe more prosecutors and the damage to moral is that these guys won’t be eligible for her payroll.
Don Perata isn’t going to be happy with her.
Yes, she does know corruption.

Bump!
Perhaps Mukasey needs to expand the public corruption units in SF and D.C.
I’d settle for a Perata perp walk.. in this decade. ;-)

See, it is easier to control and compromise a "specialized section" than it is an entire office. With public corruption cases spread out willy-nilly among "other sections" and "a larger pool of prosecutors", there's way too many people to have to buy off and dig up dirt on. No wonder Feinswine is a tad uneasy.
Nobody is touching her. Amazing.
Morality and duty are not principles anymore. They are just personal preferences that are now designed to change with the times. The sad thing is, people don't give a crap either.

Morality and Ethics are assaulted by banter, posture and color of law tactics frequently,
While we cannot speak for the “public at large” about caring anymore, we can tell you there are those out there, abused and side-liners alike, who do care.
They are disheartened by the apathy you speak of and the willfully blind press who only jumps upon blood, guts and gore.
We are here, the Die-Hard few, fighting for our rights and you.
Keep the Faith, for the Truth is a wonderful weapon.
It does not die, falter or weaken over time.
The Truth remains the inflexible constant, that the enemies of right cannot overcome.
To power, corruption and Apathy, speak Truth.
