The high price of gas is killing the commuter real estate market. Outlying areas in my neck of the woods are not selling well as people who used to think about moving out into more rural areas stop when they consider spending $300-400/mo just to drive to work.

People moved out there in the last 5-10 years did not see this coming. How could that be. We are in, thank g-d, a global economic expansion and oil and gas are the most efficient power sources and the United States sits on massive deposits and we do not use them.

This had to happen.
