Probably not as well known, but a hero nonetheless for saving countless Jews, was Raoul Wallenberg. Wallenberg, a Swedish Diplomat, gave Swedish passports to Jews to protect them from the Nazis. He was arrested by the Russians at the end of the war and disappeared. The official verdict was that he died of a heart attack.

In 1981, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation that made Wallenberg an Honorary U.S. Citizen

There was also a Japenese diplomat stationed in Europe who wrote false visas for thousands of Jews to get them away from the NAZIs. I can’t remember his name.

There were many others, lots of whom died for it.
