However, psychology is now becoming a harder, experimental science thanks to the ability to look inside the brain. The older theories such as Freud or Jung, or even Maslow, are no longer the key paradigm of psychology.
Of course, there is a difference between research psychology and psychotherapy.

"...a difference between research psychology and psychotherapy..."--like the difference between physics and engineering. One disparages the other for lacking scientific rigor, and the other demands relevance to everyday life.
