An attorney for FLDS families in Texas today challenged the state's claim of a pervasive pattern of underage girls having children, saying the state's own documents show that just two teenagers in custody are pregnant.
Snip
Of the three teenagers listed as pregnant, Parker said, one is about to turn 18 and another refused to take a pregnancy test, he said.
"That leaves us with one," he said. Based on that list, Parker said, "I challenge the CPS to come forward with the pregnant minors."
Chris Van Deusen, a CPS spokesman, said, "The only thing we can say is we're aware that there are 20 girls who became pregnant, and they were between the ages of 13 and 16.
"That's not to say that there are 20 now, but at the time theyconceived, they were 13, 14, 15 or 16," he said. "That establishes that there is some sexual abuse here."
Parker said the 20 minors the state has identified either as pregnant or mothers actually had children over a 10-year period.

STOP RIGHT THERE.
These people are not Christians. Not theologically, and not behaviorally. Jesus said that we would know people by their fruits, and the FLDS's fruit is child abuse and cultism. And that doesn't come from a media report, it comes from proof in court and testimony of numerous escapees.
The rest of your post is even worse bilge. I'm not one to trust the government, but trusting this criminal enterpirse disguised as a Little House on the Prairie remake is even dumber than trusting the government.
They showed cause. That's why the judge let them put the kids in state custody.
The FLDS is a criminal enterprise, and every adult on that ranch is culpable.
Course, I’m not from Texas....but I’m pretty sure on any given day...at least 500 girls under the age of 16...are pregnant. Last time I checked...the vast number are still living in daddy’s house (unless he kicked them out)...and not a one ever got removed (unless they had been kicked out).
I have a problem with the sect in general....but this case at hand...is really driving itself into the ground. Either they prove the underage marriage business or a large group are pregnant...or this thing ends in thirty days.
Dammit, Jim, I am a mathematician, not a doctor!
What are we looking at?
Having said that, a population with the same mitochondrial DNA, the same diet, the same life experiences, and - well, let us stipulate - non-divergent DNA - is going to pose some interesting statistical challanges.
I wonder if doctors are chomping at the bit to study them.
Know what?
after looking at that...I’m all for polygamy..
He can have all six of those ugly bitches
(ok the one in the corner is kinda cute...no the other corner)
Matt. 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”
Do not judge based on things you’re guilty of yourself. I think that is the context I should worry about, as in don’t remind someone of the spec in their eye while the beam remains in yours.
Black women have the highest teen pregnancy rate (134 per 1,000 women aged 15-19), followed by Hispanics (131 per 1,000) and non-Hispanic whites (48 per 1,000).
Sounds lower than “NORMAL” people.
Yeah..only meant...it’s not for me to judge what a good christian another can be....only to judge for myself what a good christian I can be...
Something like that...
Anything from the bible is a good post.
James Watson, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin, and Francis Crick will be contacting you shortly.
Any stats on how many of those in each group are pregnant by old perverts hiding their perversions and statutory rapes in the cloak of religion?
If you took the entire population of Texas and rounded up all the girls or women who had been pregnant at a time when they were underage, that would be a very large number.
Underage girls have been getting pregnant all over the USA for a very long time. There usually isn’t any abuse involved. It is hormones and boyfriends.
But the point is these girls aren't living under Daddy's roof. In fact, Daddy kicked them into another man's bed. That doesn't happen every day all over Texas. At least I hope not.
Yes, but these girls were brainwashed into believing it was their duty to "marry" some nasty old pervert.
Big difference.
The girl standing at the far left of that photo does not look very happy.
The Primer: Helping Victims of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in Polygamous Communities
It was jointly released and regularly revised by the Attorney Generals of Utah and Arizona. It's about as authoritative as you can get, aside from first hand accounts by those sect members who have escaped.
