Yep. Even the happy pills they give you for sedation dentistry will leave you totally unable to drive safely (see my #39 above). After a general, I’d probably be too busy heaving my guts to get home on my own.

I had a hernia repair under local just so I wouldn’t have to go through the recovery room projectile vomiting and inability to void.
The surgeon was dubious but 30 minutes after surgery, I was taking a walk around the hospital while they finished my discharge paperwork.
