The name Trig is a Norse word meaning "true" and "brave victory," Leighow [spokesperson for Gov. Palin] said. Is somebody in the family of Scandinavian descent?
BTW, Trygve Lie, a Norwegian, was the first head of the UN.
"Trygve" and "Trig" are from the same root, which may be "tryggr".
Now that might be a cool name!
At least for a horse.

The Palin family issued a statement that read: "Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives."

The Palins have one other son; Track, 18I'm sure he's a fine young man.
Just hoping his middle name isn't "Andfield."

Thanks, Kathy. The family will love this child; and he will love them.

Shoot. I hate being a math teacher and all the good math puns are gone. I'll work on it.
In the meantime, there's always the (x, why?) math joke blog to peruse!

Perhaps we will see trig function. That would be a sine of the times, though someone will have to cosine. I hope nobody thinks I am going off on a tangent, engaging in all this hyperbola. I think I will need to skip the beer, since I was told, “Don’t drink and derive.” Perhaps, that is why this conversation may become irrational, if someone gets pi-eyed.
