A little early. Nobody seems alarmed, so probably all are okay.

If it was a girl, her name would be “Algebra.”

From an AP story:
The name Trig is a Norse word meaning "true" and "brave victory," Leighow [spokesperson for Gov. Palin] said.

In other articles I read, this baby will face significant challenges.
Not sure what this means, so maybe a good strong name is needed.

Yes, it's a sine of the times we are living in. You're going off on a tangent.

I guess “Quantum Physics” was already taken.
Glad to hear Mom and baby Trig are doing fine.
(I hope he doesn’t grow to be an overly large child. The other kids will call him Trog.)

Other names Palin comparison.

I read somewhere that little Trig has Downs Syndrome but it was an unconfirmed report. I’m sure he’ll be a special child and much loved, praise the Lord.

I read somewhere that little Trig has Downs Syndrome She is 44. The odds of Downs increase with age, so that is plausible.

They are my all time favorites. Too bad today we have to endure Sponge Bob and Pokemon instead.

Arctangent would be worse.

Trig Paxson Van Palin was born at 6:30 a.m. April 18, 2008 and weighs six pounds, two ounces.

The Palins have one other son; Track, 18, serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks. They have three daughters; Bristol, 17, a high school junior; and Willow, 13 and Piper, 7.
She somehow managed to keep the pregnancy secret until seven months!
