There are many cases where witness tampering might be a big issue in court rooms all over the nation every day- yet I have never heard of a judge ordering cell phones be confiscated from people that are not under arrest. Are these women under arrest? I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem so from media reports. I do think this is a terrible and unusual case; but I don’t want any precedent set there that may haunt the rest of us later. These people have rights, no matter what they have done or might do.

I understand what you’re saying==== but witness tampering and these women who have been so fricken brainwashed that they handed their girls over to be ‘effed’ by old men is an issue.

They are a risk to themselves and their children. And yes, while not criminals, a hairsbreadth away if coached by the right person.

Perhaps if they were enrolled in a government reeducation program they would give up those loathsome clothes and outlandish religion. I’m told it worked wonders on the Indians.

You know Obama says that may Americans cling to guns and religion because they are bitter that the government doesn’t have a reeducation and work program for them.

You have a reading problem, the criminal perverts in this case are the ones forcing sex on under age little girls.

ROTFLOL! You're the one who said that the letter was from perverts. Since the mothers wrote the letter, you are saying they are perverts.

But perhaps you have a logic problem and can't follow that.

:-)

Amen...and how is that mandatory, lavender frock any different (in theory) than that oldtime fashion statement of a burka? And I am being serious...plural marriages; no worth given to women (beyond reproduction and sex). Not much of a leap there...

If they had rights, they wouldn't be dressing so funny!

Get over yourself....you want this to fail.

You don’t give a rats patootie about what is going on here...you want the government to be wrong in this so you can feel smug and self-righteous.

Again, this is a bizarre situation, but this is purely a rape and pedophile ring under the guise of a religion. That’s all it is....

Think of it from the other side though. Maybe they do have warrants (no all are unsealed) and maybe a little wire tapping has been going on. What if they know, right now, that these women are being coerced (eternal damnation for your soul being the least of it)...what should they do? Let the phone call keep coming in? Or let the women 'deprogram' from their masters, errrr, husbands, and truthfully answer the most basic questions...like how old were you when you married X? How old were you when you first have birth? Which of these children have you given birth too? Who is their father and your 'husband?'

There’s an enormous potential in this case for witness intimidation, collaboration and conspiracy. I’m not sure about the legality of taking cellphones away from people who have not been accused of a crime, but I can understand exactly why they did it.

Read real slow, any mature adult woman, that aids in the rape of a child is herself no better than the perverted male and or female involved and is just as guilty. And just as perverted. To live in a community where the rape of children is a common practice the women who have done nothing about it should be put in jail as well as the one who physically committed the rape. It is called aiding and abetting , wee mind.

Aiding and Abetting/Accessory A criminal charge of aiding and abetting or accessory can usually be brought against anyone who helps in the commission of a crime, though legal distinctions vary by state. A person charged with aiding and abetting or accessory is usually not present when the crime itself is committed, but he or she has knowledge of the crime before or after the fact, and may assist in its commission through advice, actions, or financial support. Depending on the degree of involvement, the offender's participation in the crime may rise to the level of conspiracy. FROM http://criminal.findlaw.com/crimes/a-z/aiding_abetting_accessory.html
