What part of the stream?
I am in oil and gas field services, onshore and off. The company I work for provides: fracing, acidizing, hydraulic work over, coiled tubing, drilling & measurement (eline), wireline and well control services that include fire fighting and blowouts.
In Houston...what about you?
Considering how wrong your every statement has been here, I have to wonder which Govt agency you work for if you have been "in the business" yet so fundamentally wrong for 35 years.
In situ is breakeven at $38/bbl. Breakeven is uncertain so far on microwaving, because current thinking is that using a combination of frequencies may be more productive than the current single-frequency (harmonic) process.
Will they be implemented? Only if/when the political class tell the environazis to suck wind. What company is going to risk X billion on anything at all if some jackass tree-hugger might get lucky with a BS lawsuit and shut the project down, eh?
But, 35 years in the ''awl bidness'' or not, you're not paying attention. New technologies, as well as new adaptations of old technologies, are out there aplenty right this minute.

There have been lots and lots of threads posted RIGHT HERE on FreeRepublic regarding new oil finds and new energy technology breakthroughs. Go find them yourself. I don't "feed" lazy people.

Did you know that most major breakthroughs comes from those on the OUTSIDE? Yes it's true. The "insiders" usually have blinders on "Yup... can't be done..." or "we've been doing it like this for 35 years..."
