Thanks Blam. Hitler also had a group of philosophers from Tibet, and had the SS plant the swastika flag on a mountain in the Caucasus that was supposed to be sacred to the Aryans. He liked to cover all the bases, and as he said, "we don't have to be coherent." ;') |

> Franco ‘collaborated with Nazis’ to prove Canary Islands were home to Aryan race
I can’t say I’m surprised. Franco was a nasty piece of work.
I'm not sure the professor's "beliefs" should be quoted as though they are fact. Franco defeated the Left (communists and socialists) in the Spanish Civil War. He got help from the Nazis, who also hated the Left.
Whatever this business in the Canary Islands was about, I think the only thing that would motivate Franco to go along with it was that Germany was providing something which helped Franco to strengthen his regime or to help Spain economically or defensively. Franco was not a Nazi. He was just a Spanish dictator.
***I cant say Im surprised. Franco was a nasty piece of work.***
But he absolutely refused to allow the nazis to place artillery in Spain that could have bombarded Gibraltar.
I also understood he saved the lives of thousands of Jews - sheltering or giving visas to them, or giving them sanctuary? (sorry I don’t remember the details, but he quietly saved many) - so credit where credit is due.
***I cant say Im surprised. Franco was a nasty piece of work.***
He also refused to be goaded by Hitler and Mussolini into joining the Axis powers in the war.
“Sinai Heritage Director Rabbi Yitschak Rudomin argued that the Axis powers were not entirely responsible for the deaths of the six million Jews during the World War II.
“Japan did not have a policy of genocide against the Jews,” said Rudomin. “When they took over Shanghai - a city where many Jewish refugees fled to - the Japanese continued to allow free passage to the city.”
“Also, Spain under Franco helped save more Jews than any other county during the war,” he added. “Anyone who could make it to Spain or one of its embassies survived. This is a fact.”
***Is it true that Fransisco Franco saved Jews during world war 2 in Spain? ***
It could also be pointed out that the Japanese diplomat to Germany saved thousands of Jews by issuing them visas. And when the visa forms ran out he handwrote them on plain paper. He was also a Christian.
There is much more to admire about Franco than not.Had Franco not defeated the Communists, history might be much different - & not to our liking. Franco was a Spaniard first & foremost.Like it or not Spain owes it’s stability to Franco.
Franco was a hero.
My great grandfather was a Las Canarias. He went from Oviedo, Spain to the Canary Islands and then to St. Bernard parish. I don’t have to spend $100 on a DNA test to prove it.
BUT- if that makes me a descendant of Atlantis....WHOA, the place is GONE!!! What kind of FEMA check do WE get?? LOL
Actually, the irony of the descendants of Atlantis ending up going under water again in Katrina is spooky.
