This is inexcusable, too.

Authorities were trying to determine the identities and parentage of many of the children; some were unwilling or unable to provide the names of their biological parents or identified multiple mothers.

Sick. So twisted.

The naming of multiple mothers is actually not that surprising. First, the children are generally expected to view all of the “sister wives” as mothers. Second, I would not at all be shocked to find that some fathers placed babies born to the young wives with older wives in an effort to shield themselves from statutory rape cases.
