If obama does manage to win, it will be by the slightest of margins.

This will either be a race as close as 2000 or a mccain landslide in the electoral college. (I don’t see mccain or obama winning more than 9-10% of the popular vote, I also just can’t imagine obama having any claim to a mandate if he were to win) America cannot vote in an empty-suit, extremist-liberal who’s had less time in the senate than john mccain spent in a cage in vietnam. She just can’t...

Maybe not but many Americans are gullible. And politically correct and cannot conceive that anyone in the Presidency would do anything to harm the country.
But lately here is my nightmare scenario. Say McCain wins but the Dems add a few seats in the House and win, as expected, 6 to 7 Senate seats. That puts them in the upper 50’s and in many cases they will be able to peel off a couple of weak-kneed Pubbies to get to 60. So the House passes a big tax increase, the Senate goes along and McCain vetos. But the veto is easily overriden. So the economy is toast and presto the Republicans get the blame and the Dems pick up even more seats in 2010 and 2012.
