That’s what I was going to say. Black, white, whatever, I call any kid who climbs trees a “monkey.” For God’s sake things are really getting out of hand.
ME TOO! My kids used to repeat a counting poem.
Ten little monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head. Momma called the doctor and the doctor said, no more monkeys jumping on the bed.
Nine little monkeys jumping on the bed....
etc etc etc
....taught them to count backwards and the visual was a cartoon monkey, but I always called my kids monkeys when they were climbing or bouncing! They weren’t offended!
They sure have. I called my kids monkeys and my grandkids. There isn't as much racism as it is sensitivity. People are becoming too darn sensitive. Everyone walking around with a chip on their shoulder seeing how they can be offended.
