Grant's Pass traveller. I've found Oregon to be one of the strangest states in the country. I ferried several aircraft to Oregon over the years. I've never seen a place where such extremes in wealth, political views, ideals, and ways of life tend to coexist in such close proximity.

Almost killed in an ice storm out there in 2002 or was it 2003? Had to deliver a plane to Astoria along the coast. I got so iced up in the mountains I had to land at cruise speed to keep control from all the ice. The weather is as wildly extreme as the people.

Why do you think I love it? It used to be a mixture 'mind your own bidness Libertarians', good old boys, Grange farmer types, a bunch of Trotsky type commies and a few inbreds for local color.

Sadly, it's becoming a cookie cutter, politically correct, goose stepping copy of California :^(
