Ah.. but without the grace of Christ.. no matter what your works, you are never going to be able to win your way to Heaven. All of us fall short, none of us are worthy based strictly on our works. Our obligation is to strive to the best of our ability.. whether or not we have done so only God will be able to judge.

I don't understand your reply I said in general all who believe in Christ are saved meaning they have grace.

Now as far as reward goes that depends on how much effort your put into striving to Keepping the Lord's commandments.

Some put in 10%, 50% etc the Lord knows our hearts and minds and how much were really were making an effort.

Are you one of those who think that the person who only put in 10% should get the same reward as the one who put in 90%?

BTW works here means getting your attitude as close as possible to teachings that the Lord Jesus Christ showed us to do.

We don't really do it from a personal self disciplend; it is something as we summit ourselves to the Lord that grows within us, the enabling comes by the atonement of Jesus Christ!

On that particular line of thinking... the Grace versus Works issue, I am unsure if you and I disagree or if perhaps we merely misunderstand each other based on where it sounds like we are placing greater emphasis. Textual conversations have that risk.

In any event, I do not think yours and my own thinking are necessarily that different, and as such it is not worth the effort of trying to banter back and forth about it trying to delineate exactly what we mean.

"Are you one of those who think that the person who only put in 10% should get the same reward as the one who put in 90%?"

If all things are equal, then probably not. But depending upon circumstances, possibly. I think a man who has virtually nothing, but gives 10% and does not eat for several days is probably rewarded at least as much as a billionaire who gives $900 million and never went hungry. I have little doubt that if I were blessed with much greater wealth, my own conscience would dictate that I give a greater percentage to help others, and would expect no greater reward.

Only God can judge our worthiness and what measure our reward should be.
