>>If it was Jule vs. Hillobama, I’d vote for Julie.

You know, fixing this country means fixing the Democratic Party too. If they get beat every time they put up a gun-grabbing, pro-abort, military hater, they will eventually stop, even if the person beating their gun-grabbing, pro-abort is a gun-grabbing, pro-abort who has proclaimed that he has repented.

We will all be better off.<<

That’s an interesting way to look at it. The anti-McCain idea that voting for McCain is, in effect, proving to the GOP that it can continue to drift leftward. You are saying that the same idea applies to Dems. I’m not sure HillObama is worse than GoreKerry.

Is McCain worse than GW Bush? I don’t think Bush started breaking his promises before he was elected. At CPAC McCain promised that he would secure the border first, and since then he has repeated that promise, but his actions are those of a man who does not want to keep that promise.

It’s really a very complicated and depressing decision this time for voters. No matter whether I vote or not, no matter who gets my vote if I do vote, it’s going to help our nation go leftward.

All 3 candidates would push an amnesty that would provide millions of new Dem (or worse) voters, and consequently the left would control all 3 branches, possibly forever, unless leftists themselves changed when thay saw the disaster they caused. I hope McCain would not turn the USA into the mess that California is.

Ahhh, but I think McCain might be to the right of Bush. Don't forget Dubya was 100 percent behind McCain-Feingold and this amnesty garbage. We were just so sick of Slick and Dubya ran on being pro-life and pro 2A (and in fairness he generally fulfilled his promises on those issues) that we were willing to overlook his big gub instincts.

And I'm still quite glad Dubya beat GoreKerry.

And to continue to look on the brightside, Dubya is more conservative than his father who was more conservative than Nixon/Ford. Obviously and unfortunately, there is no Gipper in sight.

With regard to illegals the only option -- and I mean ONLY option -- is to hope McNut wins and brings in enough conservatives on his coattails to make whatever is cooked up halfway palatable.

And that means supporting McNut.

We have a very good congressional candidate here in Pa-7 (a Marine F-18 pilot and Gulf War vet) taking on a very lib incumbent, and he is very much concerned about the border issue. If McCain has coattails, he is going to win, but that means conservatives can't stay home.

And more on the brightside -- conservatives can't really lose with a McCain presidency (other than of course seeing some really awful ideas implemented but that would be the case with Hillobama only more so). If McCain continues to screw up the economy, which I think he will, I think we would be even more likely to benefit politically than the left since it will be their policies he adopts (no drilling, Kyoto etc.) and we will certainly make that the issue in 2010 and 12.

W/regard to the Dems, they were certain they were going to win this sleepwalking. If they lose, they are going to have to go right, especially on the life issue.

Note that in this election they are both major pro-aborts but Obama is running as sort of a Rockefeller Republican --he's not, he's a flaming socialist but he's running more conservative than Kerry.

Anyway, that's my rant.
