I was being sarcastic.
I think there’s a huge difference between McCain and Democrat #1 or Democrat #2. Neither of them give a damn about the War On Terror, they think it’s an annoyance, or as John Edwards puts it, a “Bumper sticker”.
McCain recognizes the danger of Islamofascism, Obama and Hillary don’t think it’s a big deal. On that basis alone he beats them.

I would say that all great endeavors (including political) are not based on ad hominem attacks or simple name calling (RINO).Calling someone a RINO isn't name calling, it's simply shorthand, an acronym.
What great endeavors do
This is a common liberal approach to conservatism. Characterize conservative thought as primitive, then argue from this faulty assertion. Conservative thought doesn't qualify as a "great endeavor."
It is also true that being a Republican, conservative or what have you
Haven't figured it out yet, huh?
Strange how the nitpickers of "diversity" can't tease out the difference between Republicans and conservatives.

By now, most McCain haters will have already skipped down to the comments section to post their expletives and tell me how its a free country and they have a 1st Amendment right, etc. to yammer on and on about how bad McCain sucks, totally missing the point of my post, again. But Im here to tell you, in this free country, that in my opinion, you should SHUT YOUR STINKIN TRAP! To all you ingrates, rageaholics, and self-absorbed punks, WE KNOW YOU HATE MCCAIN. And there have been assorted insults (many from this same person) on other threads, but frankly, I'm not about to look all of it up. This is representative of what I hear from CG and several others.

I agree. We haven’t had a good President since Ronald Reagan. We won’t get one this time either.

Yes, I agree with you. Rude and unnecessarily provocative and using name calling as polemic device.

Great, so he'll supposedly save us from the external threat, but give carte blanch to every hair brained liberal scheme Pelosi and Co. can come up with to destroy it from within.
Since you put it that way.
So what do you think his plan is for all those nasty terrorist types we expended great time, fortune and blood, to round up and get out of the way down there at Gitmo?

McCain recognizes the danger of Islamofascism, Obama and Hillary dont think its a big deal. On that basis alone he beats them. While he might recognize it, it's a pity that like Jorge Bush, he's not serious about winning it.
If he were, he wouldn't be trying to close down GITMO, protesting the use of "torture", encouraging continued violation of our borders and opposing measures to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
If he were serious about fighting the WOT, he wouldn't support trade policies that effectively diminsh the latitude within which we can act by leaving us open to blackmail by our creditors, e.g. The Chicoms.
If he were serious about fighting the WOT, he would oppose the establishment of a de facto Al-Qai'da base in the heart of eastern Europe, i.e. Kosovo, instead of supporting it.
And if he were serious about fighting the WOT, he'd stop alienating the conservative base, the ones who would have not only voted for him but continued to support our military efforts in the Mid-East and around the world.

A great people need a great tent...America has a genius for voluntary cooperation and compromise."Compromise" seems to be sanctioned by the self-proclaimed intelligentsia only when liberal dogma is deferred to.
Am I mistaken?
To: Cymbaline
Can you name ONE SINGLE ISSUE that John McCain will back you up on all the way to the veto pen?
With out a doubt what so ever! On top of that, Most Presidential elections have what is called the "Coat Tail" effect...How many CONSERVATIVE voters do you see pledging undying devotion to John McCain?
Now do you see the effect of John McCain?!
This isn't about McCain! It's about us CONSERVATIVES!, And we've been HAD!
I'm not going to help another RINO! EVER!

So we can add the inability to focus on the argument to your list of qualities. We were talking about the media’s role in McCain’s winning the nomination, not immigration or McCain’s temper. If you can’t dazzle ‘em with brilliance, baffle ‘em with BS. I expected nothing less from you AuntB.

But he's still a constitution trampling RINO and unless he repeals McCain-Feingold, repudiates amnesty and global warming, drops all support for embryonic stem cell research and stops talking about partnering up with the Democrats and instead swears to fight the evil bastards he won't be getting my support. Ditto .... and I'll put it in the plebian vernacular as well.
