Norman--it is this kind of language that is just insulting. No one is asking for ideological purity--and no one expects it. There are a whole host of issues about which McCain is just flat out wrong. Take that with his record of being a "maverick" and many just don't trust the man. I find his position on immigration and global warming to be abominable, the latter having the long-term potential of being just as damaging (if not more) than the outcome in Iraq. IMO, there are no good choices for conservatives in this election, even though you seem to have convinced yourself that McCain would actually be a good president. I'm hoping for total gridlock after November. The question for me is which candidate will get the least accomplished as they are all committed to moving us to the Left.
