I don’t insist that he doesn’t need the support of conservatives. He very much needs the support of conservatives. I’m conservative and I’m supporting him. He will not win without other conservatives as well.

That’s my whole point....I don’t believe anything mclame says. Do I think if “his” socialist pals start urging him to withdraw, would he? Yes. Because I think he’s a backstabbing SOB who sleeps with the enemy.
I absolutely HATE the position we are in, hate it.

I apologized. Are you going to accept it or mock me?Considering that you slimed my post calling it an intentional falsehood - in other words, a lie, I think mocking you is in perfect order.
Further, whats the point, so you can shame him for some old crash? Its not ignorance because its not well known nor very relevant in my view.
If you had the intellectual ability to comprehend my original post (yes, I'm calling you what you think I'm calling you), you'd have seen that I was pointing out the supreme irony that a guy who lost 3 planes outside of combat was given the title of "flight instructor".

I offered no such acknowledgement.Either you have evidence of such statements, or you do not. There is no third option.
You feel no qualms in demanding that others provide evidence of their own statements -- see #49, for instance, on this very thread -- yet cringe and fall back from the no less proper insistence that you do so, yourself. Don't like how that ends up making you looking? Not my problem, thankfully.

I used the words “some mythical notion” because few will express in such words that they are demanding ideological purity. Using the words “shut up” is a bit more forward. That’s the difference.

As already implicitly acknowledged, then, by your own (repeated) failure to provide evidence of the statement in question: it was a baldfaced lie. [::nods::] As expected. Carry on, then.

What temper - just like your idol!
(And you share his analysis skills too - I'll bet you're just itching to pay $0.50 more per gallon of gas to "fight global warming"!)

I used the words some mythical notion because few will express in such words that they are demanding ideological purity. Norman--it is this kind of language that is just insulting. No one is asking for ideological purity--and no one expects it. There are a whole host of issues about which McCain is just flat out wrong. Take that with his record of being a "maverick" and many just don't trust the man. I find his position on immigration and global warming to be abominable, the latter having the long-term potential of being just as damaging (if not more) than the outcome in Iraq. IMO, there are no good choices for conservatives in this election, even though you seem to have convinced yourself that McCain would actually be a good president. I'm hoping for total gridlock after November. The question for me is which candidate will get the least accomplished as they are all committed to moving us to the Left.
