CG,

I think there are many for whom their particular "conservatism" has become a kind of religion, like liberalism, progressivism, socialism, environmentlism and feminism are quasi-religions with others.

For such folk, someone who is not their version of an orthodox, doctrinaire conservative is as dangerous as a liberal. Corrupting and leeching influences, don't you know.

I think it is probably that numerous such people are attracted to a good conservative site such as FR. What does one do try to get religionists to be real? If I knew that well, I might have become an actual pastor. ;-)

It is not religion. It is called principle and backbone.
What is a conservative if he has neither?

A McCain supporter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do the right thing and vote for a real conservative. It is time to hop down off of the lap of the GOP.
