Shubael Smith, was a son of John Smith and Susannah Hinckley, this last a sister of Governor Thomas Hinckley of the Plymouth Colony, an ancestor also of the two Presidents Bush.

Why would he receive reparations? He doesn’t have a single ancestor who was a slave in the Americas, and in fact, his ancestors owned slaves in the Americas. In addition, his father’s family may have been involved in the slave trade, which was what got them to Kenya.

I agree that many of us are probably related somewhere along the line. My thoughts when I came across this was that if he wants to blame the white man...he’s got a lot to look at in his own family.
