He is supposedly related to the Bushes through a family named Hinckley.
So if a reparations bill ever passed, would Obama pay or receive reparations?

The parents of Benjamin Dunham were Jonathan Singletary alias Dunham and Mary Bloomfield, who moved from Newbury, Massachusetts to Woodbridge, New Jersey; Jonathan’s father, the earliest known male-line ancestor of the Senator’s mother, was a Richard Singletary. Shubael Smith, was a son of John Smith and Susannah Hinckley, this last a sister of Governor Thomas Hinckley of the Plymouth Colony, an ancestor also of the two Presidents Bush.
Why would he receive reparations? He doesn’t have a single ancestor who was a slave in the Americas, and in fact, his ancestors owned slaves in the Americas. In addition, his father’s family may have been involved in the slave trade, which was what got them to Kenya.
I think he should have to pay...with all of his white ancestors and since his father’s side were never slaves. Whatcha think?

Pay...he is a first generation African-American...no slaves in his family tree...his black ancesters are still in Kenya.

I agree that many of us are probably related somewhere along the line. My thoughts when I came across this was that if he wants to blame the white man...he’s got a lot to look at in his own family.
