Gotta' give them (FBI) credit for persistence.

Gotta' give them (FBI) credit for persistence.

Why? 'cause they looked at the 'chute for 3 weeks? Not like they found it themselves.

I haven’t been a real follower of the case but if the chute isn’t a plant it sounds like it’s possible it could have been his, it’s in the right area.

That's about all.

With their almost unlimited resources and access to sources of information we can't even imagine they can't find someone familiar with parachute equipment of that era.

"Now, after examining the parachute for about three weeks, the FBI could use more help, Carr said.

"We need to go back to the public. We need someone with knowledge of jumping equipment," Carr said by telephone from Seattle. Investigators hope to learn whether the parachute Cooper was given in 1971 matches the canopy in their possession."

I bet most Freepers could find a knowledgeable source within three weeks without FBI resources.

persistence

Not what is happening. The case was dormant for several years but has been reactivated. Why and how is not public info at this time.

Beats having to try to solve any current and active cases involving active & ongoing criminal activity.

Heck, just picking any random Democrat pol....

Look at the waste of money trying to find Jimmy Hoffa. His body, that is.

Wouldn't the resources be better spent on tracking down one of the estimated 40-60 serial killers on the prowl any given year?
