ALBANY - Gov. Paterson, who confessed to repeated infidelities last week, admitted tonight that he used cocaine and marijuana when he was in his 20s.
Paterson, 53, the former lieutenant governor who succeeded disgraced Gov. Spitzer last week, claimed on NY1 that he had only used cocaine "a couple of times" when he was "22 or 23" years of age.
He said he had only used marijuana "probably when I was about 20," adding, "I don't think I've touched marijuana since the late 70s."

In other words, he's taking the "20-20 Hindsight" defense.
But he didn't inhale.
There isn’t anything these liberals don’t do that might be considered by others as “unacceptable” or “illegal”.
Liberals believe everything is okay until they may become embarrassed by it becoming known. Then they try to cover their butts.
A damn selfish lot of people, I’d say.
Come on New York...what a bunch of absolute corrupt losers you have placed in line for your Governosr. Unbelievable, shameful, embarassing, and disgusting.
I was wondering why he looked so SPACED!
That stuff was pretty commonplace back in the 70’s if you were in that age bracket.
Not sayin it is right.
Just sayin.
Who cares?
Anybody still living in NY is either a masochist or retarded.
I’m of that age and never used it and haven’t been unfaithful to my spouse. Maybe I should run for Gov!

Somehow I hear the Eagles song ‘Dirty laundry’ playing in the back of my mind at this time...
You’d have to be extra brave (or extra stupid) to trust someone giving your drugs when you’re blind.
“Here take these pills.”
“Oh, okay.”
Song lyrics
Artist : Eagles, The
Title : Dirty Laundry
Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I dont have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em all around
We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
Its interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
You dont really need to find out whats going on
You dont really want to know just how far its gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre stiff
Kick em all around
Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybodys pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When its said and done we havent told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!
At least it wasn’t heroin... : )
Drug use at 20 doesn’t worry me. The fact that Kennedy and Kerry act like they’re still on drugs does worry me!! I really worry about the fact that this appears to be the “best” our country can offer. To paraphrase C3PO: “We’re doomed!”
I disagree. There are some fine places and people all over New York...and particularly upstate.
Anything else he’d like to confess to?
I’m thinking at this rate, he might be confessing to a few murders by June.
Why don't you keep your stupid remarks to yourself. Where do you live genius? I'm sure I can find a lot things to say about youe state. Yes I live in New York. I don't like what goes on here either but I don't consider the good hard working people of the state retarded or Masochistic. You sir are a jerk.
A new form of leader.
The World hasn’t seen decadence like this since Caligula’s Rome.
