That service really brings home the connection back to the first Easter rising. I have been to it in a tiny church and in a huge cathedral. A powerful experience either way.

It sure does.

And while I didn’t notice much in my own service since I was, to quote Obama yo mama, “in the pew”, I couldn’t help but notice the thousands of people receiving communion on the EWTN televised service. I couldn’t help but notice the many races and nationalities of people who felt that attending this service was so important that they put their pre-Easter life on hold to attend.

But the most important thing I noted was of the many speakers (and this mass had the ARCH-Bishop presiding, I didn’t even know there was such a thing) was that not one preacher spoke of anything but the word of God, or lead a solemn prayer, or praised the heavens for Jesus Christ has arisen.

In other words...no hatred, vitriol, spewing of words never seen in a bible anywhere on this planet. Just prayer and faith and joy.

Yes, for the first time in my life, I noticed this. Wonder why.
