May be you need to read the story’s better. That Mayor was a US citizen getting dental work done. Not the Mayor of Palomas.
The Mayor of Columbus, NM, USA was the one in the dentist office in Palomas while it was being robbed.

Recent violence in Palomas includes the armed robbery last Sunday of a dentist’s office while Columbus Mayor Eddie Espinoza was undergoing a root canal, and several shootings and deaths.
I wasn’t reading a news article- if you would read my post I said a neighbor told me the story. That should make it clear that I was told this- do not know it to be true. I live fairly close to Palomas/Columbus and since the recent excitement began we hear stories about what is going on down there from everyone. Many of these stories turn up in newspapers- but who knows how many are true- I am including the news versions in that. I am sure not going to personally go down there to find out what is going on.
