Well said!! I wish such insight were far more common but unfortunately it is rare. Slavery was a horrible thing but the US did more to abolish it worldwide than any country except Britain. I would add that as one of tens of millions of Americans whose ancestors only reached this country in the 20th century, I get particularly tired of being told I bear some special responsibility for what no one in my ancestry had anything to do with. My ancestors were all poor struggling fishermen, farmers, and miners in faraway lands (Cape Breton Island in northeastern Canada, Ireland, France) and they never even heard of slavery.
I’d say it’s time for the subject of race to “move on” from the bitter rants and recriminations of Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton, et al. No one alive today had anything to do with it.
He has to be the most useless candidate that has ever run.

Barack, I didnt do it for this.
Barack, I was a civil rights worker South Carolina, 1966 22 yrs old helping old folks register to vote, teaching kids to read and write, directing Raisin in the Sun
Barack, I didnt do it for this.
Barack, I dream of my kindergarten best friend Andy from Walden School, Manhattan, born one day after me, shot dead in Mississippi 1964.
Barack, I idolized Stokley Carmichael and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.
Barack, I lost the full use of my left hand for life in South Carolina.
Barack, I didnt do it for this.
Barack, I gave hundreds to the Black Panthers for their childrens breakfast program when I was 25 and a young screenwriter in Echo Park, Los Angeles, even though I knew Huey was crazy and was worried my money might have been going for guns, even though I had my own children in the house when the Panthers came over, their jackets bulging.
Barack, I made excuses for the Black Power Movement even though I knew it was turning racist.
Barack, I didnt do it for this.
Barack, your speech was bullshit.
Barack, this isnt about generations.
Barack, this isnt about the black church.
Barack, this is about a pathological minister whose uncontrolled anger wounds his own people and keeps them down.
Barack, this is about a man who ignored that rage for his own political gain and even now wont admit a huge mistake and looks for nuance and excuses.
Barack, this about a woman who went on scholarship to Princeton and Harvard and still hates America.
Barack, you say you want Black-Jewish reconciliation but you hung with an anti-Semite.
Barack, I didnt do it for this.

You sound like you will go far in life, YBR. Your post can help many to open their eyes and see the doors of opportunity which await them. May your positive influence spread far and wide. - OB1
Now it is all about HIS RACE and white guilt. I think he will largely become the the “black” candidate supported only by his race and the lib elites (college profs, moonbats etc.) Ther is no way white the working class in Ohio, PA . Mizzo, and FLA are going to support the “race candidate”, unless the MSM can brain wash them to death. He can no longer state he is ABOVE race and politics. He is the HATE candidate.
Only if those knuckleheads first take a sip of the "LIBERAL COCKTAIL"--
two ounces of 'high-minded' idealism,
with an ounce of political naivete'--
mixed in a snifter of historical amnesia.
P.S. Some liberals like their cocktails 'dirty'--adding a touch of condescending arrogance.
No question about it.
If you want to divide this country even further along racial lines,,,
Senator B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken) Obama and his nasty, bitter, mean, anti-American wife,,,,
ARE THE RIGHT COUPLE AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!
“I would add that as one of tens of millions of Americans whose ancestors only reached this country in the 20th century, I get particularly tired of being told I bear some special responsibility for what no one in my ancestry had anything to do with. “
I totally understand your point. If I were constantly blamed for something I myself didn’t do it would get old very quickly. The only chance of being successfull in this world is Self Responsiblity. (the most successfull usually have a great deal of Self Dicipline as well but I digress)
And how can you have Self Responsiblity when you are always being told it’s somebody else’s fault that you are in your position in life. How can you grow?
I was seeing my oldest off to the Army Guard, shipped out for BT just yesterday. As I was waiting...the speech was being played on CNN on a TV in the lobby. I don't think it was intentional because nearly all the MSM pimped that speech.
As the officers and soldiers walked by the TV, they caught a glimpse of the TV, shook their head and kept walking.
Nobody there was paying attention....in fact, one of the soldiers turned the channel to ESPN and asked everyone if that was OK. Everyone could care less.
HOOAH:)
