They start going after churches and I start thinking "Gestapo"

No one forces a church, or any other “nonprofit” to voluntarily apply for tax-exempt status, with the concomitant voluntary quid pro quo of limiting their political advocacy speech.Churches, Red Cross, March of Dimes: all the same, when it comes to politics & taxes.

Nobody says they can't take the NRA route, and play on the other court.

Since when is political speech not religioous speech? The IRS is dead wrong on this one. Their gestapo tactics - gagging religious groups by denying their tax exempt as a nonprofit for engaging in political speech - is an abridgement of free speech.
