We have the blood of native americans, Jews who tried to get into the US but were turned away by our anti-semitic president at the time, slavery, and probably a whole lot more. We need as a nation to repent for our sins. God will forgive us and heal our land when we do.
As individuals, we are all imperfect. As a nation, we have freed many people across the globe. We've re-built other nations with our own blood, sweat, and tears. This nation has done more than any other in history to help other countries and other people.
This is the greatest country in the world. Americans are (for the most part) the most generous people in the world. Whenever there is a disaster, which country is usually the first on the scene to help? We spend billions of dollars in foreign aid all over the world. American doctors, nurses, teachers, and many others donate their time and skills to help those in need.
I can't repent for the sins some Americans made long before my ancestors and the ancestors of many of us ever landed on this blessed soil. All I can do is my best in the here and now.
No, Mary. The sins of Americans who were long dead before my ancestors even came here do not fall upon me.
