And their photos have been run. It’s quite obvious they’re black. Please explain why the story should explicitly say they’re black.
BTW, I absolutely agree that the Spitzer stories should include the fact that he’s a Democrat.

That actually makes perfect sense. To the liberal media, anyone who is shot to death by cops is a victim. Had he been black they would have mentioned his race in every other sentence. They would probably have also mentioned the police officer's race if wasn't also black, or else they would have just hinted that the “victim” was actually shot for being black.
In all seriousness I do remember a fairly recent case where a police officer justifiably shot a crook and the mainstream press referred to the crook's family as the “victim's family.” I wish I could remember where I read that.

Let's see, maybe it because it's part of the facts of the case? Maybe because it IDs the perp more clearly and precisely? Maybe it's because the photos aren't that clear? And maybe it's because white perps are always identified as white when they are the perperators and blacks are not? Maybe that's why the story should mention it?
Just as when members of the Republican Party or well known conservatives are caught doing something unseemly their party or ideological beliefs are always trumpeted while if the subject should happen to be a Democrat/liberal you'll never see as much a "D" after their names much less a mentioning of their political persausion.

Thanks. Google’s pretty good, and people spell bad, so in fact the search with “sandra” did turn up 10 references.
I did it again with Chandra, and only ONE of the 10 stories said “D”. Meanwhile, a lot of them said “Rep.”, which as someone else pointed out might confuse a lot of people to think it is short for “Republican”, not “Representative”.
About 20 years ago there was a similar scandal in Ft Lauderdale, FL, with 60 “clients”, and many well-known public figures (almost entirely Democrats) were perceived to be very nervous for a couple of days — until a plea agreement was worked out where the “lady” in question would be given a sentence but none of the names of the “clients” would be revealed. But wouldn’t you know it, the only one of the 60 names to be leaked, in violation of the court order, was the Republican city commissioner who immediately resigned, and whose seat was taken by a Democrat in the special election. The other 59+ people are still anonymous 20 years later.
