Possible but I think it is more likely the first round of cuts from teenagers that are making the new min wage.

>>You don’t think we need temporary workers? How do you think your lettuce has been picked for the last 80 years?<<

1) I would say that since we do not have a U.S. VISIT Exit System, and so don’t know when or if they exit, the term “temporary worker” is very dubious.

2) There are already several “temporary worker” programs. Why do you think we need more programs, especially in light of my comment 1).

The unions don’t want temporary visas, they want permanent. Remember the Dorgan amendment? Remember the Dixiecrat republicans voting with the unions.

Uhhh, I need you to back up here a second, because it appears that you are the disruptor trying to start something. I don't mean any harm.

Did you or did you not state that some of us would not be happy until all Mexicans were dead? What brought that on? I haven't seen anything about killing all of the Mexicans on this thread.

BTW, the subject is illegal immigration, not Mexicans. There are illegal aliens from all over Central and South America, as well as China, Africa, Haiti and elsewhere.

Why did you make your comment about all of the Mexicans dead and what exactly did you mean?

Americans traveled to the moon, split the atom, cured polio, and invented the internet. Just a hunch, but I think we can figure out this "picking lettuce" thing.

It can't possibly be all that tough.

I'm going to go ballastic if McCain chooses Lindsey Graham as his running mate. They are tight, those two.

Don’t think I care to discuss it, but thanks for your concern.

McCain is slamming us again, saying that our opposition to illegal immigration is "emotional".

He is a dirtbag, pure and simple.

I’ll take my chances with the Dem...maybe there is a chance to stop amnesty there. With McCain giving cover to the Dems, there would be no chance at all.

How is it with a dem president that you think you’ll stop amnesty whereas with McCain you’ll get amnesty? You don’t think a dem will give cover to the other dems?.

I’ll take my chances with a Repub for the following two reasons...... Yours obviously differs as is your right.

a] Possibly more conservative SCOTUS nominees
b] Support of and for our military men and women

"What the heck is wrong with that? I swear, some of you people won't be happy until every Mexican is dead."

You're certainly not doing this forum any good by making an outrageous accusation such as this.

It's totally out of line and not true.

What if the “temporary workers” don’t go home? I think new programs of this sort don’t help. There could be a responsible compromise, perhaps, but the plantation owners, their allies, and congressional prostitutes don’t want to have to bother with having to enforce visa exit dates. And of course, they are not concerned about allowing more terrorists slip through the cracks.

I’m concerned about the illegal immigrant issue, but I’m so tired of EVERY SINGLE THREAD I OPEN turning into an immigration thread. FR is becoming overrun with people absolutely obsessed about this issue, and I’m sure more than a few are disruptors as we had in ‘06.

And yes, spectre: some people ARE that extreme.

Thanks ... I thought it was just me that had taken offense. Apparently, he doesn't want to discuss his thoughts though. Very suspicious.

What the heck is wrong with that? I swear, some of you people won't be happy until every Mexican is dead.

That statement is totally bizarre. You really should apologize to people for a silly remark like that.

Have you watched any of the La Raza videos?

Please, control yourself, inflammatory and unfounded remarks like that serve no purpose.

People around here have no problem with Hispanic people, some of us are Hispanic.

There is nothing wrong with people expecting our government to do the job they are sworn to do like enforcing our laws and looking out for the safety and interests of US citzens.

“I think it was a very reasonable position to take.”

I agree! - and a temporary program whereby farm workers come into the country under a controlled system and leave when the harvest is done is not amnesty in any shape or form.

If you are worried about the temporary workers, you should vote democratic and they will see to it that will be no temps, only permanent.

Please, he already is mentally disabled. He also has cancer. Do you ever wonder why he isn’t being put through the wringer like Fred or Cheney?

That in itself is odd. How long do you think the media will wait to bring up the fact that McCain has reocurring melanoma?

JC, I AM most concerned with McCain's nomination because he fought for comprehensive immigration reform along with Kennedy. I can't see his name without thinking of it..

But I don't agree any of us want to see MEXICANS dead...Talk like that is right out of the LaRaza playbook.
