Tampa, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The foundation that Terri Schiavo's family created after her death is continuing its efforts to help the elderly and disabled obtain appropriate medical care. The foundation is launching a new radio program on a Tampa station that will be simulcast on the Internet and later expanded to other Florida stations.
The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation will start the new America's Lifeline program this weekend life from the Tampa studios of Talk Radio 860 WGUL, a Christian station.
Prominent radio health care advocate Cary Hall will co-sponsor the program along with Terri's brother Bobby Schinder and her sister Suzanne Vitadamo, the foundation's directors.
Hall is also the host of a successful radio show called The Health Insurance Advocate which broadcasts from two Midwest stations.
"America's Lifeline is something we've wanted to do for some time," Vitadamo told LifeNews.com on Thursday.
"With Cary Hall's health care expertise my family's experience trying to save Terri, and now running her foundation which works to save those like Terri, we'll be able to educate Americans and raise awareness about the euthanasia movement like never before," she added.
Vitadamo said the program would focus on controversial cases of people who have been subjected to potential euthanasia or denial of lifesaving medical treatment, such as Lauren Richardson in Delaware.
It will help people learn about the best advanced directives for treatment, learn about the dangers of assisted suicide, focus on state and federal laws and explain how hospice care can be helpful.
The program will also delve into the controversial futile care theory whereby hospitals and doctors are more routinely giving up on providing care for patients they consider "too far gone."
The America's Lifeline debut is set for 3 PM EST on Saturday, March 15, 2008 and it will also be streamed worldwide via the Internet at http://860wgul.townhall.com.
The program is poised to expand into other Florida radio markets including Orlando and Miami.

A powerful point! Thread by wagglebee.
Most parents receive the news that they are "expecting" with joy and excitement. For some, however, the good news turns sour when they learn that their unborn or newly born child has Down syndrome or is afflicted with some other disability like cystic fibrosis. What parents are told about their child's future and how they are told it often influences whether that child is born at all. That's why Senators Sam Brownback and Ted Kennedy have co-sponsored the "Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act"..........

Lest we forget, especially today, on the anniversary of Terri's death, that dark forces still push a similar fate for others.

The pro-life movement has an obligation to speak up for the Terri Schiavo's of the future and millions of people around the world are at risk. Yes we do, we are and I for one will continue to do so as long as there is breath in me.

Terri's death defines her. In a way, we are all defined by our death. No, Terri's LIFE and LEGACY defines her.
Terri's death defines how apathetic and heartless a large portion of society has become.
Can the people who stood by either uncaring or supportive of Terri's death by rationalizing that she had "due process" claim ANY moral superiority to the Germans who lived in the towns surrounding Auschwitz and rationalized that it was "none of their business" why the cattle cars arrived around the clock and the stench from the fires grew stronger?

The reason Congress asked the federal courts to review the Schiavo case was that the 41-year-old woman about to be dehydrated and starved to death was breathing normally on her own and was not terminal. And ANYBODY with even a modicum of common sense understands that food and water ARE NOT LIFE SUPPORT.

Crist has made homeowner’s insurance WORSE and that’s not all. If McCain picks Crist, and something happens to McCain like DEATH, we will have a fool for a president. Then, we’ll get hit again. Charlie only knows about boats, sportscars, ballgames and divorcees. He doesn’t know nuthin’ about nuthin’ else.

TERRI DIED BECAUSE SHE WAS MURDERED. What else do we need read into it. There’s no doubt though that she is a strong, role model. She fought the hardest in Terri’s Fight to live but surrounded by a POLICE STATE even in her isolation, there was nothing Terri could do. Now if they put that kind of law enforcement on the border instead of conspiring to commit murder for their paychecks (EXTRA DUTY PAY, didn’t they volunteer for TERRI DEATH PATROL?) we’d have no problems with illegal immigration.

ALERT: Some doctors who accept MEDICARE are dropping their Medicare patients and opting out. In March of 2008, Medicare lowered the doctor reimbursements. So, if this becomes a trend, anyone on Medicare may be at risk of not having a doctor.
I don't know if Medicare has any way to stop this but this is a little war going on. The patient is in no man's land. Good luck, fellow Americans.

..........................
Dear Friends,
Today, March 31st, marks the third anniversary of Terri's death, and I want to thank everyone who has contacted my family with their words of support and prayers offered for my sister Terri and my family.
The overwhelming response from people and groups that are participating in Terri's Day has been touching and one that my family really did not expect. It has provided us with much comfort during this very difficult time.
Sadly, in today's culture, which seems to be declining further into a moral void every single day, people like Terri are looked upon as worthless. We are continually manipulated into believing that it is perfectly acceptable to kill them because they are "suffering." And when suffering is being taught this way, as something that is inherently bad and therefore must be completely eliminated, we begin to see why so many are able to justify the killing of the disabled even when it means barbarically dehydrating them to death.
During our fight to save Terri, I thought it was ironic that so many viewed her as having no value because of her disability although, in the end, God's hand was so evident in her life. Even when she was isolated from the world and denied all but the most basic contact, He allowed Terri to touch and continues to allow her to touch the lives of millions.
She reached hearts with the message that human life is precious simply because it is human life. She put a face on the evil of euthanasia and in doing so has saved many others from a similar fate.
It is my hope that my beautiful sister Terri, whose light still shines brightly even after her death, will be remembered for years to come - as a child of God and as a chosen instrument that sparked the beginning of the end of an evil affliction against the sanctity of human life.
Again thank you and a special thanks to Father Pavone and Priests for Life, as well, for all of their help reminding people of the anniversary of Terri's death.
Words can't adequately express how much my family appreciates all of you being with us in prayer on this very special day remembering my sister Terri.
Sincerely,
Bobby Schindler and the Schindler Family
