Tampa, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The foundation that Terri Schiavo's family created after her death is continuing its efforts to help the elderly and disabled obtain appropriate medical care. The foundation is launching a new radio program on a Tampa station that will be simulcast on the Internet and later expanded to other Florida stations.
The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation will start the new America's Lifeline program this weekend life from the Tampa studios of Talk Radio 860 WGUL, a Christian station.
Prominent radio health care advocate Cary Hall will co-sponsor the program along with Terri's brother Bobby Schinder and her sister Suzanne Vitadamo, the foundation's directors.
Hall is also the host of a successful radio show called The Health Insurance Advocate which broadcasts from two Midwest stations.
"America's Lifeline is something we've wanted to do for some time," Vitadamo told LifeNews.com on Thursday.
"With Cary Hall's health care expertise my family's experience trying to save Terri, and now running her foundation which works to save those like Terri, we'll be able to educate Americans and raise awareness about the euthanasia movement like never before," she added.
Vitadamo said the program would focus on controversial cases of people who have been subjected to potential euthanasia or denial of lifesaving medical treatment, such as Lauren Richardson in Delaware.
It will help people learn about the best advanced directives for treatment, learn about the dangers of assisted suicide, focus on state and federal laws and explain how hospice care can be helpful.
The program will also delve into the controversial futile care theory whereby hospitals and doctors are more routinely giving up on providing care for patients they consider "too far gone."
The America's Lifeline debut is set for 3 PM EST on Saturday, March 15, 2008 and it will also be streamed worldwide via the Internet at http://860wgul.townhall.com.
The program is poised to expand into other Florida radio markets including Orlando and Miami.

Dight was not right...
Thread by wagglebee on eugenics and euthanasia.
At the dawn of the Nazi era, a prominent Minneapolis physician sent a letter to Adolf Hitler, praising his "plan to stamp out mental inferiority among the German people."
At the time, Dr. Charles Dight was an influential public leader, a former city alderman who had founded the Minnesota Eugenics Society. As such, he believed that the "feebleminded" were unfit to have children. He didn't hide his admiration for the German chancellor....

Studies in oxymoronic thought...
Thread by wagglebee on suicide machine.
A German lawyer and politician has unveiled Europe's first suicide machine for people with a death wish as "an act of Christian love".
The machine that can be rented and is then collected to be re-used by other clients kills painlessly at the push of a button.
It was unveiled by Dr Roger Kusch, 53, head of a suicide assistance society in German, who said: "Press one button, and seconds later death arrives."..........

State Attorney Bernie McCabe is corrupt too. He failed to impanel a grand jury while he continued to protect Michael Schiavo and all his judge buddies. THE PERFECT CRIME with many criminals. We need a roster there were so many bad people doing their part to KILL TERRI.

Thank you, Steve Ertelt, for these words on today, the anniversary of Terri's death.
...................................
It's hard to believe three years have passed since the terrible euthanasia death of Terri Schiavo, a beloved daughter and sister whose husband won the legal right to kill her. Her death is a reminder to the pro-life community that grisly practices like euthanasia and assisted suicide should be tackled with the same fervor as abortion.
As pro-life people we often like to tell the public -- especially the mainstream media -- that we're "pro-life" as opposed to "anti-abortion" because we have a great respect for the right to life of people both before and after birth.
Yet, until Terri Schiavo rose to national prominence, the pro-life movement spent most of its time addressing abortion.
Even now, a scan of the crowd at the annual March for Life -- ostensibly on the anniversary date of the infamous decision allowing the genocide known as abortion -- reveals a sea of anti-abortion banners and few dedicated to the elderly, the infirm, or disabled.
That's not to say the pro-life movement is without its heroes on the forefront of the euthanasia battle.
Courageous leaders like Rita Marker, Wesley J. Smith, Joni Erickson Tada, Mark Pickup, Alex Schadenberg, Mary Jane Owen and Tom Marzen helped formulate the views I and millions of pro-life people have on end of life issues thanks to their passion and sound analysis.
The inspirational words of Pickup and Owen in particular have moved me about the plight of those threatened by euthanasia in ways I never could have imagined when I first got involved in the fight for life.
As a teenager, I appreciated the pro-life perspective on bioethics topics, but I never truly understood its importance until they drove the points home with more bravery and resilience than I could ever muster as person blessed with good health.
Sadly, pro-life Americans aren't as riveted by the brutal and tragic deaths from euthanasia and assisted suicide as we are by the 50 million killed by abortion.
Local pro-life groups and national pro-life events mention euthanasia in passing, and our literature, our advertising and our focus is on education and legislation and candidates who are pro-life on abortion.
I don't point the finger at anyone because the blame falls on my shoulders as well.
Glancing back at my own March for Life speech, I spent so little time talking about our elderly and disabled friends as I did our young ones. The LifeNews.com articles we write are more heavily focused on abortion.
Perhaps it's because abortion affects more lives in the long run, but the tide is turning.
As aging populations across the globe reach the time in their lives when critical life and death health decisions are made, more countries are looking to follow western Europe nations in legalizing euthanasia.
In the United States, we've held the pro-assisted suicide forces at bay for years, but the floodgates could easily open for more states to duplicate Oregon's statute.
And while the laws slowly change, the actual practice of euthanasia in hospitals and nursing homes around the world is nothing new. Medical personnel have taken the lives of patients long before Huxley's Brave New World came upon us.
So while I'm grieved and saddened that the Schindler family was forsaken by American jurisprudence on March 31, 2005, I'm glad that God, in his infinite wisdom, opened the eyes of the world -- as well as the pro-life community -- to the destruction of human life in the name of so-called compassion.
We must draw on the lessens from Terri's brutal 13-day starvation and dehydration death.
We must elect pro-life candidate who care about the protection of human life across the board and we must pass laws that give patients the medical care and treatment they deserve.
But that's just the beginning.
The pro-life movement has an obligation to speak up for the Terri Schiavo's of the future and millions of people around the world are at risk.
Churches, doctors and other health care professionals, disability rights groups, and pro-life organizations must continue to work together to educate the public and to educate ourselves.
With so many Christians and pro-life people who are still pro-life on abortion but tolerant of putting grandma "out of her misery," our educational efforts need to start at home. We must put forward the principle that everyone deserves the right to live regardless of age or quality of life both before and after birth.
So, on this special day, as we honor Terri Schindler Schiavo, her parents Bob and Mary, and her brother and sister Bobby and Suzanne, LifeNews.com commits to working with them and working with you to raise the pro-life banner just a little bit higher.
We will redouble our efforts to place more focus on the pro-life battles of fighting assisted suicide and euthanasia. We will rededicate ourselves to standing up for those who need an advocate and educate and inform you on how you can participate.
We hope you'll join us and join them today in honoring Terri's memory and remembering her words: "Where there's life, there's hope."

Diane Lynne writes today in WND about the meaning of Terri's death. I can only excerpt from this article but hope all take the time to read her words.
.......................................
................Terri Schiavo had no say in her famous death because she neither could speak for herself nor prepared a living will prior to her still-unexplained collapse in 1990 that led to her brain injury.
Michael Schiavo ultimately prevailed in the 12-year court battle. Probate Judge George Greer issued the death warrant Schiavo sought by not only ordering the removal of the feeding tube surgically attached to Terri's stomach, but also by barring the oral administration of so much as an ice chip. Greer effectively ordered Terri to death by be dehydration and starvation for an agonizing 13 days.
Terri's death defines her. In a way, we are all defined by our death. All of us desire to have a "good death." What this means depends upon the world view to which we subscribe..............................
Did Terri die for the greater good?

Nat Hentoff writes today on Terri in the Washington Times. Once again, regrettably, I can only excerpt from this powerful article, encourage all to check at the link for the full story.
..................................
While Barack Obama is disengaging himself from some of the sulfurously disuniting remarks of his former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, he has shown in a February debate with Hillary Clinton — his own disturbing ignorance of why disability-rights communities across the nation so vigorously protested the official starvation and dehydration of disabled Terri Schiavo. I described this as "the longest public execution in American History."
When moderator Tim Russert asked Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama if "there are any words or votes that you'd like to take back... in your careers in public service," Mr. Obama answered that in his first year in the Senate, he joined an agreement "that allowed Congress to interject itself (in the Schiavo case) into the decision-making process of the families." Mr. Obama added: "I think that was a mistake, and I think the American people understood that was a mistake. And as a constitutional law professor, I knew better." When he was a professor of constitutional law, Mr. Obama probably instructed his students to research and know all the facts of a case.
The reason Congress asked the federal courts to review the Schiavo case was that the 41-year-old woman about to be dehydrated and starved to death was breathing normally on her own and was not terminal. There was medical evidence that she was responsive, not in a persistent vegetative state.................

From archives of May, 2005, a look at this date...
......................................
Terri Schindler-Schiavo, the brain damaged woman who died March 31 at a Florida Hospice as the result of a court order removing her feeding tube, was not in a persistent vegetative state and was not brain-dead, noted neurologist James M. Gebel Jr., MD, MS, FAHA has concluded.
The renowned neurologist who is president of the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association and physician liaison at Jewish Hospital Emergency Stroke Center in Louisville, KY, has concluded that Terri Schiavo could have been cared for at home with some home health care assistance at modest to at most moderate expense which would not by any common sense standard be deemed economically burdensome. In a letter to the editor published on www.wftsradio.com , Dr. Gebel said that over the past several weeks, it has come to his attention that significant debate has developed regarding the Terri Schiavo case.
The 41-year-old woman sustained serious brain injuries in 1990 under suspicious circumstances at her home and died March 31, 13 days after her nutrition and hydration had been removed by court order following a petition to do so by her estranged husband and guardian, Michael Schiavo. Terri had not executed a living will at the time she was stricken and her husband maintained that she would not want to be kept alive by assisted feeding. He also maintained that she was in a persistent vegetative state with no cognitive function and no chance for recovery, a position disputed by her parents who unsuccessfully battled in court near 10 years to keep her alive.........................

The media, in this case, United Press International, UPI, attempts to lock in lies as fact as part of history.
In 2005, Terri Schiavo, a 41-year-old Florida woman in a persistent vegetative state since 1990, died 14 days after removal of her feeding tube amid a heart-wrenching legal struggle over her fate reaching to the White House and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Over two hundred years ago in France, before the word was coined, perhaps the first great euthanasia took place, sponsored by the new French government. A vast segment of France was reduced to wolves and rats in the great experiment against people of faith, an attempt to eradicate Faith by eradicating those who held it. A vast distortion of the media also occurred, and few today know of the Vendee Wars or the Giants of martyrs who laid down their lives for their Faith. Facts prevail against the hardest of propaganda and today, a solid core of faithful still stand against that atrocity which set the stage for later horrors. The media true to lies, perpetuates.
How do we know this? We lived amongst the descendants of the few survivors, for years in a farmhouse which had been cleaned out by the slaughterers hosted by the State. The surviving evidence and data is enormous, but seldom seen.
Thread by wagglebee.
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The vast majority of people in France would support legislation to allow a doctor to end the life of a person with an incurable disease and enduring unbearable suffering, if this person requests it, according to a poll by Ifop published in Paris Match. 91 per cent of respondents would be at least partly in favour of enacting such a law.
In November 2004, Frances National Assembly endorsed legislation which legalized "passive euthanasia." This concept allows doctors to withdraw life-sustaining medication from patients, but not to, for instance, administer poisons. Assisted suicide or "active euthanasia" occurs when an individual who is not physically capable of ending his or her own life requests the help of a physician to do so.....
