The good guys always carry M-16s... until they’re captured by or sold to the bad guys.
How much is this going to cost us the taxpayers?

Hey, I’d like a couple M-16s please. I’m partially paying for them after all!

How much is this going to cost us the taxpayers? Put it on the tab. It's $3 trillion so what's a few $ billion.

How much is this going to cost us the taxpayers? Nothing. It's being bought through FMS using Iraq's money.

Taxpayers be damned.
Rumor has it that Murtha put this deal together—he’s real tight with the President of Colt Arms, who has the contract.

Maybe nothing, if they are starting to use the billions from oil money they are generating. If Iraq is showing loyalty to us by buying our equipment and creating jobs here in the USA, it could be a good sign for the future.
Iraq was a high risk, and hopefully high reward (less terrorism, eventually cheaper oil, stability in a volatile region, some financial payback from Iraq to help with the financial treasure lost -->hey, Rome required taxes).
