If this is a Larry Rice operation, I can’t say as I blame Greene County for being concerned. I’ve seen too much of what he has done here in StLouis. He’s pretty much in the “Christian Socialist” camp as far as I can tell.

Don’t know about that but his planning is deficient. Seems like he opens shelters and then worries about rules, regulation, screening of clients etc.

I have to stand with the city and the school on this one. Rice has a lousy track record.

When I was in the temp business in downtown St. Louis, Larry wouldn’t allow men to work third shift and have a place to rest during their off hours. I wouldn’t let him in either.

When I was down and out I stayed at the shelter on Commercial St before they relocated a few blocks away. Not much better than jail inside, but better than out in the cold. Ps they had a limit of 50 beds, 1st come 1st served. If it was below 40 or raining you could sleep on the hard floor in the dining room. In the morning you got coffee and donuts and you had to do a chore then were told to go look for work.

Oh, I just checked. Victory Mission in Springfield isn’t run by the Larry Rice organization. I had forgotten. He did have a thrift store next door. The new shelter is on Broadway.
