Scary scenario indeed...but if W didn’t manage to pull it off, how would McCain? I’d rather fight a Repub president again on immigration than a Dem...think about it.

Are you really willing to risk it given the differences in donations democrats are getting vs. Republicans?

How about given the almost 2 to 1 numbers of democrat voters vs Republican voters during the primaries?

There is a sizable risk that our numbers in the House and Senate will decrease during this election and maybe enough to remove the firewall that the GOP provided during the McCain-Kennedy fiasco.

I have news for you. In 2004, twice as many Democrats voted in the primaries compared to Republicans. Who's the president now? let's just say it's not John Kerry.

In 1988 again 22 million Democrats voted in the primaries compared to 13 million Republicans. Let's just say Dukakis did not become president.

There is no bigger nonsense than to imply that primary turnout equals General election success.
