I had a dog named Scrappy, he was a great dog. I got another dog named Jack, he was a terror. I had to put a shock collar on him to keep him from eating my cats. Sadly, my dog Scrappy died and we now have a new dog, Daniels. Daniels makes Jack look like an Angel. If I had a dog like McCain, Id have to have him put down.
Note to Brit: we don't take orders from RINO lapdogs.
I yield to no man in my dislike for McCain and his “maverick” ways. But I think we could survive a McCain Presidency. For that matter, I think we would survive a Clinton Presidency. Obama’s potential for putting the country at risk is so great that I will vote for him, something I swore several years ago I would never do. That was pre BO.
“Time to put our inflated egos in check and fight for our side”
Ok, but Juanito goes first.
I'm personally waiting for it to be okay for us to lose an election. You know the Democrats put somebody up at the RNC puts out a release, "This Guy's Not So Bad" Yep, I'll wait to send a message until Ben Nelson's the Democratic nominee. Or maybe, we can just never stand up for principle.
Internet 101: bold isn't "shouting." CAPS = "shouting."
Nice almost-try at an actual point, however.
*snort*
McShamnasty, is just you kind of candidate. It’s like getting into a bad marriage, in hopes you will be able to change them later.
Several black eyes, cuts and bruises late, after the “good” Senator comes home drunk and beats his wife (The GOP) before going to bed.
But there’s always tomorrow, and he can change, if we just stay on his back, and if we duck fast enough to avoid his punches, he sure is better than any Democrat! (keep repeating that to yourself in the mirror over and over again, and you will eventually begin to believe it.)
Earth to Brit, “NO, read my tagline.”
Unfortunatley we are going to get the same, and worse from Obama and Hillary... so the choice is painfully obvious for clear-thinking conservatives...do anything we can to keep the dems out of office, then do our best to derail McCain’s lunacy by congressional pressure. Imagine an unfettered democrat like Obama or Clinton in the White House with a democrat-controlled congress — that AIN’T pretty!
Your post doesn’t make sense. You chide McCain because of a quote attributed to John McCain that said he would appoint someone like Roberts, but possibly not Alito.
Point 1: McCain had vociferously denied that he said that about Alito.
Point 2. What we know for sure is that McCain voted FOR both Roberts and Alito, whereas Obama & Clinton both voted AGAINST both Roberts & Alito.
If your point is that we need more judges like Alito, you failed in presenting a logical defense for your conclusion.
I think Hume and Kristol are missing the point by a wide margin. Conservatives don’t want McCain to run as an orthodox Republican. We know he is a Democrat, and speaking for myself, I want him to be honest, and tell everyone he is a Democrat. McCain won because of Democrats and independents, and if he wins in November it should be because of Democrats and independents, not conservatives. ...Besides, for eight years where were the pundits telling McCain to stop stabbing conservatives in the back. If Obama wins, Republicans might want to stop and ask themselves how they ended up with a liberal Democrat like McCain, and then they should work hard at not making the same mistake again.
McCain ranked just above Huckabee and Paul, but he looks to be the party nominee and as much as I don't like him, he is way better than Obama or Clinton.
Maybe these "Principled Conservative Thumb-Suckers" are really Libertarians. They are pushing for a socialist administration in hopes that it would lead to an armed revolution which would leave a power vacuum for them to step into. That is the only way Libertarians will ever gain power. They can't do it through the ballot box.
> and I say again -
No kidding. Take if from a “surf” and an unperson in the mind of the RNC and Juan McCain that just because you feel passionately that we need to go to hell in that handbasket half as slow as it would with a Dim in power is NO REASON to post the same thing
over
and over
and over.
Okay? Thaaaaanks.

The supreme court may be lost for a generation if we allow Hillary or Obama to pick the next two justices - 2012 will be too late.
“and this is not the time for us to make a statement to the Republican party.”
Heard in ‘96 and ‘06. When IS a good time to make such a statement?

One speech at C-PAC and lists of endorsements seems to be his “bridge” to conservatives.
It's time the GOP got the clear message that they cannot continue acting like Democrats and then feel entitled to conservative support. If that means getting our noses bloodied in 2008, then it's a hard lesson for a mistake that the GOP will be loathe to repeat in 2010 and 2012.
