There isn’t anything really new or fresh about the theological disputes between the evangelicals and Catholics, and its a no-win situation for McCain to try and choose one when he doesn’t have to.
99.999% of the dispute between Protestants and Catholics is ecclesiastical in nature, not theological. And the statement I just made is the first item in dispute. Many things Protestants consider merely ecclesiastical, the Catholics consider "Word of God" religious doctrines.
Not going to be settled any time soon!
