While I support anyone’s right to bear arms, this is not the solution to school violence. The solution is to stop medicating kids for mild behavioral problems. Going off the meds is what makes them go nuts.

Also allow them to experience failure and disappointment, ridicule and teasing as a child. Teach them how to overcome and deal with problems they may face in the real world.

So, do you support it or not?

Perhaps the problem is the use of the word "solution". Arms are not a intended to be solution to violence. They are rather an effective and appropriate ~response~ to violence.

Your other suggestions are good. But they won't solve it either. Nothing will. Some people will always fail to play nice with others. Best we can do then is to respond effectively. It has always been this way and it always will.

Good grief! Do you think every mass murderer is on drugs? Of course this is a good idea. Remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

How many students could have been saved if only a teacher, student, janitor--somebody! had been there to take out the killer.

"Gun Free Zones" are magnets for these killers. They know they want be met with any resistance. There's a reason that these guys don't try to shoot up a gun show, an NRA or SAS meeting, a police barracks, etc.

You should support the right to bear arms.

Per the Supreme Court, the police are not required to protect you.

The Supreme Court held that the so-called “substantive” component of the Due Process Clause does not “requir[e] the State to protect the life, liberty, and property of its citizens against invasion by private actors.” Id., at 195.

And again, your are correct. This is not the solution to school violence. It is simply the way to survive school violence, or mall violence, or street violence, or ....
It is commonly called "protecting yourself, your loved ones, and your property" as opposed to "solving violence".

There are lots of reasons for people to go on murder sprees. The last line of defense is an armed citizen.
