Several people on a hot rod website I visit know Duane and they say he is not like that in real life. I met him at Goodguys and talked awhile. Totally different personality in real life. Very soft spoken.
That's often true. I quit watching the show because I only liked two of the guys. Charlie, the painter, who seemed far more capable of running the shop than Boyd or the foreman who seems to have chronic PMS. The other guy I liked was the grouchy old fabricater whose name I forget but had the attitude of "just leave me alone and I'll get it done." (He was the one that worked with the black guy who talked all the time.)
