He, along with Whitaker Chambers,fought the good fight against the Soviet Union. Their resolve lead to the rise of Ronald Reagan who brought that Evil Empire to its knees. Hence, he deserves credit for helping to free millions of people around the world. Plus he loved his family, the sea and living.

Hearing of his passing brings to minds so many warm memories.

This is a loss the depth of which will take a long time to fully comprehend. He had a rare intellect and influenced millions.

Memories, indeed. Back in the early 80s I drove to Shreveport from East Texas to hear him speak. He was my hero. He was, truly, a national treasure.
