Am I missing something. If I’m going to retire, why do I care about the job opportunities?

Because living where 40% of the teens and young males are out of work is bad for you?

If I’m going to retire, why do I care about the job opportunities? +++++++++++++++++++ The snowball effect. Housing market suffers, business suffers, tax base suffers, city services suffer, crime goes up, quality of life goes down and the retiree is stuck there unable to sell their home to move away to a better area.
