Everyone’s comments are funny. Misleading story, misleading title. First off I am a Christian, my children attend this school, I know Jaime and I know he is a trouble maker. This isn’t his first suspension, he’s done much worse than wearing a cross to get himself in trouble. And he wasn’t suspended for wearing it, he was suspended for leaving school and bad behavior. I guess you didn’t read that part. My children wear religious objects (crosses and such) to school now and then and have never been questioned. Funny how we can’t have a Christmas Program or Easter Break, everyone is up in arms if there is a Christmas tree, but now all of a sudden we are mad about this and it wasn’t even about religion! Don’t believe everything the media tells you, usually they are giving it a slant or one-sided perspective just to sensationalize it.

See my post #111. I have children in the district also, West and Memorial. I have found there is almost always more to a story than what is printed!

And by the way welcome to Freerepublic!

I read the Gazette article and responses.

In light of more info I challenge this kids Mom to do what ALL of us Catholic Parents are responsible for .....educating our children in the faith.

Like public school it requiers weekly classes from first grade through to high school.

We have a great teen camp for Catholics esp those who are struggling with there faith and the respect and love we humbly offer to the Lord in Praying the Rosary and attending Mass and recieving Holy Eucharist.

So if his Mom is not expecting and directing him to catechism is he getting the proper upbringing by his “Catholic” Mom?

Giving him a necklace is a wonderful gesture/gift but that is not going to give him the tools to grow up in the sick secular society.
