What about Catholics who practice other prohibited methods of birth control like the "pill," I.U.D's or diaphragms? In general the Church considers this a form of sacrilege, while abortion is taking a human life, but you likely knew that.

In general the Church considers this a form of sacrilege, while abortion is taking a human life, but you likely knew that. I don't condone abortion. It is a gruesome procedure no matter what the stage of pregnancy. What I wanted to point out is the hypocrisy of the church's position. Condemn abortion, yes, but allow Catholics to practice all other forms of birth control. This is especially important for central American Catholics, most of whom strictly adhere to church teaching.
