Tonys back on the air. I hope he brought his cuss jar.

 

Tony is now the substitute teacher on Bill O'Reilly's radio show, airing from 12:00pm - 2:00pm on a station near you.

I believe that this will be a regular feature on Fridays, since I understand Mr. O likes long weekends. 

Many of you want to give Tony a piece of your mind, here's your chance.

All you have to do is get through the call screener. I heard a rumor that Helen Thomas subs on Fridays.

About 3 Christmases ago I stepped off a frozen bank to the plowed road. Unfortunately the next thing I knew I heard a crack and was sprawled across the road, landed on my chin. I was sure all my teeth had shattered. Grandson yelled, “Grammy, are you all right?” No (visible) damage to my jaw, thank Heaven.

Got up sheepishly, told my daughter-in-law what happened only because I wanted her to know if I didn’t wake up the next morning there was a reason! :)

I didn’t know better then—I was only 72—but age has made me a bit more careful. I’m staying out of trees for a while too!

Warning: Just because you may think the way you did when you were 21, you aren’t! :)

Oh, I did not interpret it has grumpy, just concerned. I appreciate it. I should have just got back in the car and gone to emergency, but my insurance has not kicked in yet. When Cibco wakes up, we’ll see what he thinks.

I tuned into WDRC up here in the Hartford area to (hopefully) listen to Tony during the last hour of O'Reilly's show. I just learned that WDRC cuts off the final hour of O'Reilly's show in order to run yet another BORING local radio talk show.

WDRC absolutely sucks, and has been going downhill for years. This station used to be the only Hartford-area carrier of Sean Hannity's and Laura Ingraham's show, but they stupidly cancelled them both in favor of purely awful local shows. I've listened to these local shows... words cannot describe how horrible they are, particulary the whiny-voiced Mary Jones show that replaced the wonderful "hometown girl", Laura Ingraham (she grew up in Glastonbury, CT).

WDRC's program director claims these local shows generate a lot of interest "based on listener and client feedback". Yeah, right. I'm still waiting for him to provide me with the Arbitron ratings to back that statement up.

Back to Rush on WTIC. Sure wish we could get the wonderful WELI up here... :-(

Ha! You don’t know. Jerry Kristofer, the only right wing AM guy in Connecticut quit. To go where, WDRC (FM) as Dr. Johnny Fever reborn.

And who do they replace him with.

Don Imus.

Oh, that's right... you mentioned Jerry Kristofer "became" Dr. Johnny Fever on 'DRC FM (which I haven't listened to in ages). WDRC FM is an oldies station, I think. Kristofer went from a talk radio host to an oldies DJ???

I just don't get the popularity of Don Imus, especially after his disgusting comment re: the Rutgers womens' basketball team. I don't care how many times he apologizes... those girls are people's daughters. In no way did they deserve that despicable comment by Imus...

Do any of you know if Curtis Sliwa and that lib guy (Kuby?) on WABC 770AM complained because they were going to be replaced on WABC by Imus? I thought Curtis & Kuby had a pretty highly-rated morning show going on there...

I don’t know if they did, I lot of listeners were not very happy.

I like Curtis, and listened on occasion. They would have probably been who I switched to for the morning drive. I am not going to listen to Imus, ever.

Curtis is still at WABC, for an hour at 5:00am. That doesn’t do me much good.

For now, I switch to Jerry at WDRC FM in the morning. More music than talk, though.
