I was comparing *major* cities? You do know what *major* means right? What don't you get about comparing major cities?
Why are you so distraught about the fact that LA, Ca. has much less crime than most all the other **major** cities in other states?
See, "Los Angeles" is the entire greater Los Angeles Basin. That's what data you need to be comparing other cities to.
Otherwise, you're trying to tell me someone could say "Oh, no. I don't live in Los Angeles at all. I live in Vernon!".
Right. One half mile away from the center of what you call 'Los Angeles' is Vernon. 92 people live there. Probably full-time premises security guards living outside of factories in trailers. It's all manufacturing plants and railroad tracks.
Now notice in the link above that 'Vernon' even has their own separate little data table on that site. Oh, and notice that nothing bad ever happens in Vernon. No-one was murdered there in 2006. That's because Vernon is entirely industrial. "Exclusively Industrial Since 1905" is even the city motto. Yet, Vernon is it's own city and part of "Los Angeles".
Perhaps you ought to compare the entire Los Angeles Area to Knoxville TN and see what you find, OK?
