A usually boring race(because of track layout), raced with boring cars(COT), driven by damn good ole boys with lots of personality.

My seven-year-old son is just starting to get interested in NASCAR. So, on Sunday, we sat down and watched our very first Daytona 500 together.

We’ll be watching again on Sunday.

In the meantime, I’ll be lurking here and trying to learn something!

The IROC could not come up with a series sponsor. It has always had the money problems. I think Crown Royal was the last one. I always thought it was good racing because they looked like real production cars and not “make believes” that nascar runs now. Sounded better too.

I really do miss the IROC series. It always represented the best of the best, the champions of several series outside of NASCAR. I guess IROC auctioned off most of their assets after failing to get a sponsor last year.
One sponsor for 12 cars is spreading the money very thin.
