The clerk at Home Depot told me that everytime we get flooding in this area, people come in and buy all the pumps to pump water out of their basements.
He told me 1/3 to 1/2 will get returned a couple days later.
I guess it happens with snowblowers too.
Same thing with generators during the disaster of Y2K.

seems they can make a fortune renting the now used ones over and over again.
I got a Honda gas-powered pressure washer from Home Depot about 1/2 off — somebody else bought it, used it once for a painting job, then returned it.
