Sorry you are so blind just because McInsane has an ‘R’ by his name. Sounds like if Hillary put an ‘R’ by her name you would vote for her too.

I kind of figured you had. I accumulated most everything I would need well ahead of Y2K. Common sense dictates preparedness regardless of whether there are danger signs on the horizon. Political instability is only one of several possible emergency situations that could arise. Many of them more likely. But it never hurts to throw the idea out there.

Be alert! America needs more lerts.

So did I. I was razzed a lot by family and friends over it too. LOL I didn't care. I provided for them too. IF something would have happened, I was ready for it, and then they would have appreciated it.

Common sense dictates preparedness regardless of whether there are danger signs on the horizon.

I agree. Before Y2K, I had never prepared for anything. We never had any earthquakes, tornadoes, or any of that stuff, so I never prepared for anything. Never even 'thought' about it. Three years later, we did get a tornado and it hit my house. LOL What a wake up call that was. Then I realized that natural disasters can strike anywhere, anytime.

Political instability is only one of several possible emergency situations that could arise. Many of them more likely. But it never hurts to throw the idea out there.

I think so too. I've kept up supplies on a lot of food items, etc. Most of what I've let get down is 223 ammo because it's been used. I've still got a lot, but it's not what I want to have on hand. Now, more than ever it's important to stock up while we can. I even plan to learn how to reload and then I'll get all the supplies I need to reload. That bunch of traitors in DC will do anything to control us, and we're going to be needing to defend ourselves. If not from them, from all the crazies out there.

Be alert! America needs more lerts.

That's for sure. We can all do our part to make sure we aren't part of the problem if a situation arrises where things prevent supplies from reaching the stores.

That's the ticket alright. Be prepared. Be part of the solution. Amen.

FWIW, it's just not good to let perfectly good ammo lay around doing nothing. ;^)

LOL. Nope!

But I think your chances are pretty good by hanging around here. In different times, I bet RR would have been a freeper. ;-)

Yep, imagine my surprise when I found out that 223 works in deer hunting rifles too. ;o) I bought it for my Mini 14, which, btw, I got for Y2K too. LOL! It's no wonder that I got so much teasing. ;o)

Teasing!?! No offense but they sound like curmudgeons and party poopers to me. lol

I would like to get 1,000 rds of 7.62X39 (or more) then I would feel free to burn up a bunch of what I have. Until then it's in administrative lock down.

Also a few bricks of .22 lr and 200 - 300 rds of 12 ga. (slugs, 00buck and #4buck)
sighhhhh I guess now is the time.

#586!!!

Best reply I've seen so far on the whole morbid subject!!!

You touched all the poisonous points!!!

P.S. Speaking of "poison," we in CA have an elected Insurance Commissioner who will soon be running as another "RINO" for Governor and his name is Steve Poisoner!!!

John McCain on Voting Record Voted with Republican Party 87.3% of 165 votes. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), was scored by the Washington Post on the percentage of votes on which a lawmaker agrees with the position taken by a majority of his or her party members. The scores do not include missed votes. Their summary: Voted with Republican Party 87.3% of 165 votes. Overall, Democrats voted with their party 88.4% of the time, and Republicans voted with their party 81.7% of the time (votes Jan. 8 through Sept. 8, 2007). Source: Washington Post, "US Congress Votes Database" Sep 8, 2007

What percentage did Obama vote with the Republicans? What percentage did Hillary vote with the Republicans? What the hell? You demand that McCain vote %100 with his party. You should join a cult! I don't care for McCain, but I will vote for him over Hillary or Obama. Who has a clue? You angry and bent because you didn't get the perfect right wing conservative nominated. Remember the Rollin Stones, "you don't always get what you want." Stop crying and make the best of what you have! Believe that God is the Sovereign and believe He knows what He is doing, even though you may not understand it nor agree with it.

Excellent post, Phil!

Unfortunately, everything you said is true.

It makes me want to hide under my bed for four years...

Someone gave me Stephen King's It and halfway through I threw it into the stove.

During the reign of Marcus Aurelius the celebrated Pax Romana collapsed - perhaps this made the emperor the most forbearing of all Stoics. An important feature of the philosophy was that everything will recur: the whole universe becomes fire and then repeats itself.

All things, the coat of despair, the boots of dread, road maps, briefcases full of promises quartered and quartered again.

Into the fire. Once more into the fray.

Walking on the heads of the sinking senators.

I used to be a big King fan, but not anymore.
As I was reading "It", clowns ceased to be funny to me.
In the years since, my opinion of them hasn't changed.

"Walking on the heads of the sinking senators."

Yep.

I've been trying to find a reason to get rid of my tagline for a very long time.
I've given up...

Obama with opposition will do less damage than McCain without it.

That's the choice, and if you don't believe it come to California and see what Arnold did to a formerly conservative California Republican Party.

Read the tag line.

You're against McCain in 08--which means you're FOR OBAMA!

Oh goody, you're just as dumb as our dear departed FareOpinion.

Your assertion isn't even arithmetically correct.

Let a vote for McCain = +1
Let a vote for Obama = -1
No vote for either = 0

Your vote for McCain plus my third party vote is 1 + 0 = 1

No change.

Were my third party vote equivalent to voting for Obama it would be 1 + (-1) = 0

Therefore the outcome of my voting for a third party is not the same as my voting for Obama because 0 ≠ 1.

Therefore your assertion is false.

Nor is it the same as not voting, because it sends a clear signal to the GOP of how many more votes they could have had, not to mention that they'll pay for their mistake in taxes because they can't seem to add any more than you can.

I understand that we may never win another election because borders would be dissolved but McCain would have done that anyway. The ONLY advantage of letting Obama win is to let the idiots who think goodies come from the grubbamint for free will finally get their comeuppance in the total chaos that will ensue. Even if McCain would not have pulled out of Iraq, preferring to bankrupt ourselves fighting Islam by exclusively military means instead, the outcome would be the same. I prefer to win a war because, unlike McCain, I know that anything short of total surrender will NEVER please the Muslims any more than it will ever please the left.

The only way to win against either is to defeat them. The one thing we've got going for us against the left, although we don't have a death wish (unlike the Muzzies), we are willing to die defending our freedom. The leftists don't really believe the bull they spew.

The ONLY argument for McCain is that the SCOTUS justices he would appoint won't be as bad as Obama's, but not by nearly as much as you'd like to believe. If you're going to make a point, might I suggest using the best you actually possess?

Strawmen arguments are so fracking weak.

Strawmen arguments without basis in fact are so fracking weak. So is condecension after having been refuted. Get it through your thick skull: McCain earned his GOA F-.
