I don’t think enough people understand that underneath the patriotic wrapping, the Bush policy in Iraq and Afghanistan is indeed a limited war.

Its just like “containing” Communism in the Cold War.

It doesn’t get at Syria, Iran etc. or even go into Pakistan to take out Al-Quaeda.

This is a bad precedent. In the future illegals in California will declare it a new nation. What will we do then?

those of us who fought the last one (Nam) do see it.
I have friends who have fought in Afgan with 10th Mountain
who when we take them out for steaks after their return
tell me of things Like not hitting across the border into
Pakistan, that reminds me of Nam not good not good and
yet so may take it as gospel that Bush and McCain are strong
war time leaders?? I just don’t get it.
We need a Churchill we need a Gen Patton. True Combat leaders get the boot for speaking out on Homosexuals in
the Military..truth dies in politics and PR wins.

Bush has nothing to do with this in terms of setting policy. This is about the out of control state department that has already deposed Conalezza Rice.

State department policy is not being set by the president. These are the same state department hacks who set policy from the days of the death of tito.
